Hey Friends! I’m glad you’ve made it to my little corner of the internet.
Hi! I’m Angelika Krug Shannon – my first name is pronounced just like Angelica! I’m a bilingual Orlando wedding photographer, content creator, dancer, and performer but I consider myself first and foremost an artist.
All the people that I meet along the way – including you – become a reflection of my story. I want to know who you are so I can capture your story in a way that’s uniquely you. So who am I?
I’m a multi-hyphenate
I graduated from the University of South Florida (Go Bulls!) with a double degree: a BA in mass media communications and and a BFA in dance performance. I couldn’t pick one, so I pursued both of my passions!
I got my start doing broadcast work at USF, later branching out to wedding and lifestyle photography and films.
When people ask what I do or who I am, the best way to explain it is that I’m a multi-hyphenate. I’m a photographer / videographer / content creator / dancer / performer / bilinguist.
I’ve been performing in Orlando since I was a kid and a few years ago I danced backup for Meghan Trainor! I’ve photographed hundreds of weddings and I can honestly say it’s a lot like running a show-call times, timelines, cues, poses-and a lot of joy! When I’m not photographing my couples in Orlando, you can find me performing in town-for 5 years I performed at Disney World and at Universal!
Intertwining two artforms
For me, photography and dance go hand-in-hand. The way two people embrace on their wedding day and the storytelling that takes place with every frame…it’s all a dance to me.
Plus, let’s not forget about the rad dancing that takes place at those wedding receptions! I’m a firm believer that art is art and it’s the mantra I live by.
Experiencing different cultures
One thing I love about weddings is how we can appreciate different cultures and traditions.
I was born in Puerto Rico, and I come from a German-Dominican background where we spoke 3 languages in the home-Spanish, German and English-so, I especially love learning about new cultures and being a witness to those expressions on wedding days.
I married my husband Rob in 2019
I got married a little over a year ago, which means that I get it! The engagement, the planning, the behind-the-scenes, the wedding – all of it.
Marrying Rob has given me great experiences to guide couples along the way in their own photos and videos as I capture their moments and what makes them unique.
Rob keeps me silly and down-to-earth, along with our mini Goldendoodle Killian! From time-to-time, Rob likes to tag along for shoots as a member of my team, and he edits most of my wedding films.
I’ve instilled travel in everything I do
Travel is another piece of me that inspires the things I do and the art that I create as an Orlando wedding photographer. While I love the City Beautiful, learning about other cities, cultures, and the stories within these places also fuel my creativity.
My favorite places I’ve traveled to are:
- Paris
- Ireland
- Arizona (specifically Sedona!)
- Colorado (Ask me about the time I hiked Pike’s Peak!)
- Thailand
- Canada
- Germany
- Dominican Republic
Things that I care about
The way we treat other people can be a reflection of who we are, and how we treat ourselves when no one’s around. Treating people with kindness and showing them what they mean to me is very important.
I also get very invested in people’s love stories, their families, and other aspects of their life. Everyone has a unique story to tell and if I’m going to be there on your best day ever-I’m practically becoming part of the fam!
Capturing your story is in the beauty of photography. I aim to curate all images and videos with care to deliver meaningful memories for every couple.
How I describe my photography
My images can be seen as vibrant, authentic, timeless, classic, and joy-filled. When I photograph your wedding, you’ll experience all of this and more both in the moment and after your big day when you’re reliving all the beautiful memories.
I pay attention to your posing and energy. I love capturing your memories, being a part of your story, your moments, your dance. My story is about telling yours.
